The stunning Toyota Prius— the hybrid gas-electric car is another car made to go green. But is not just another hybrid car, it has been Toyota’s 3rd best-selling car in the United States and its users have expressed immense contentment with its incredible performance.

The first Toyota Prius was launched in the year 2003 and it was an instant favorite. Recently, the Toyota 2010 was launched a t the Detroit Auto Show in the year 2009. So, what makes this hybrid car so special? Let’s check out some of its features:

Features: The new Prius 2010 has an enhanced engine, and unlike its previous model, which gave 1.5 liters, it doesn’t come with 1.8 liters, thereby increasing the horsepower to 134 from 110. The body is also grown a little bit in its length and width. Additionally, the new Toyota Prius is the only car which provides 50 miles per gallon— be it in a city drive or a highway drive. The prime success of such an efficient feature is the reduction in the car weight and the usage of superb aerodynamics.

Looks: The 2010 Toyota Prius has a new exterior as well. The new look is quite opposite to its previous model, which was more like a small rounded object and now Prius has a sporty look and is much more taller than what it used to be. However, it still holds its futuristic look.

Add-Ons: To add to the techie Prius’ previous model, the new model has many more add ons to quench the thirst of those who love these machines. Prius now comes with a moon-roof and heated seats. The moonroof is equipped with a glossy solar panel which provides power to the ventilation system so that it doesn’t use gas engines at all. The AC system can now be operated and controlled remotely as well whenever you park your car, so before entering into the car you heat or cool it as per your requirement.

A radar system has also been introduced, which aids the driver drive safely when in lanes and also offers an auto break system when it senses that a crash has become inevitable.

Driving Modes: Prius 2010 now offers three different driving modes: First, Power which enhances the throttle response. Second, Economy helps in reducing the throttle response for increasing the gas mileage and third, the EV, in which with only one button push the Prius can go on for a mile however in a low speed without gasoline.
With such advanced features and super cool look, Toyota has again provided a really green hybrid car which is worth the money.
