Health Care Bill Extend Coverage To Millions While Costs Rocket

| More

While many people may believe the new health care bill is a “rip off,” we have to look at the overall goal our government is trying to reach. There are around 50 million Americans who are uninsured because they cannot afford it. With this new bill nearly 34 million would be covered, so in the end, our government is just looking out for the good of all Americans.

While many Americans may b e upset with this new bill because it will in fact raise the price for health care, the government is doing what they can. A main concern is the increase of health costs in general. With so many new people obtaining health care coverage, the demand will be very high for all health care services. Due to an increase in demand, the existing health care providers may be forced to increase their price, or some may not treat patients with low reimbursement health coverage, like Medicaid.

While the numbers are not officially known, the expected raise in cost should only be an additional increase by 1 percent over the next ten years (this number does not include inflation costs and higher costs of living in general).

Despite the increase in health care costs, there are more benefits to this plan than the number of people being covered. This health care bill will allow uninsured Americans who have pre-existing health conditions to purchase affordable coverage and protect them from the company impressing lifetime or annual limits on care.

This is great news for many suffering Americans. Obama is claiming that when this health care bill is fully executed, Americans will have more control over their health care decisions, and the insurance companies will have less.” If you have ever seen the movies, “The Rainmaker” or “John Q,” you will know why this is so important.

Obama precautions everyone that the full reform cannot all take place right away, but rather it will be a few years before all the benefits will be seen. But, Obama did say, “What every American should know is that once I sign health insurance reform into law, there are dozens of protections and benefits that will take effect this year.”

There are a few details that are currently holding up the Senate Health Care bill from passing, and the largest one is how to cover the costs. The Senate would like to tax high-end insurance plans to pay for the health care bill, but Obama said that to get the bill passed, they would have to drop that idea.
